We use a 14 gauge wire with a direct burial jacket which is designed to be used in the ground. The wire holds up to drought, moisture, and ultra violet light. If the wire is not direct burial wire then it is not designed to go into the ground and will not hold up for years of service.
Installation of your system is critical. The wire needs to be buried to the correct depth to prevent damage caused by an aerator (in most situations). Things such as root growth and soil erosion can cause the wire to move closer to the surface over time. Our installers are trained to install the wire to help prevent this from happening, and they are trained to make your yard look as good as possible after the installation.
